  Love Gordon Street Tavern for a low-key drink with friends. Good atmosphere and a really pretty impressive on-tap menu. The food is good and just the right style for the area. Downside: the service can be a little slow sometimes, and their beer menu is only online. I am not sure how people are supposed to order if they're out of data, last time I asked for a beer menu, the server said, "it's online, " and walked off.
  
  Otherwise, it's a great spot, and I am definitely a repeat customer.

  A great local pub in Alvin. The owner is super nice knows his beer can recommend anything you want or anything you might have a taste for. The food pairings with the beers is an interesting expedition. The waitresses and bartenders here know their beer take time on your order and offer great suggestions. They're always in a good mood and it's just a nice place to sit down after a long day at work and I have a cold one
